Reduce Condensation and Keep the Heat
SmartVent Synergy is a True Heat Recovery system capable of extracting stale, moisture-laden air from inside your home and bringing in fresher, drier air simultaneously. Synergy is a completely balanced system, that recovers and re- uses up to 90% of the heat from the warm air extracted from within your home. An extremely energy efficient way to re-use heat you have already paid for.
How it works
A SmartVent Synergy True Heat Recovery system will use the warm air you have paid for, say to heat the lounge, pass it through an advanced heat recovery converter and warm the fresh dry air from outside before moving it to rooms that need it most.
Smartvent HRV Difference
Smartvent Heat Recovery Ventilation system is very different from other HRV systems. Firstly, it’s balanced; capable of extracting stale, moisture-laden air from inside your home and bringing in fresh drier air simultaneously.
Reuse up to 90% of your Heat
Secondly, and best of all, Synergy is a true heat recovery system that recovers and reuses up to 90% of the heat from the warm air extracted from your home. Open fires, gas fires*, wood burners, heat pumps and most other heating appliances are all suitable for use with Synergy.
*Where gas appliances are used for the main heat source, please refer to the installation company for advice.
Positioned in your heated room (usually the lounge) the colour touch screen controller is included with every SmartVent Synergy and offers state-of-the-art technology with real time readings for total system control at your fingertips.
The high quality F7 filter will captures 80 – 90% of 0.4 micron particles including dust, pollens, allergens and mould spores.
Polymer Heat Exchange Core
Unlike paper cores, Synergy’s polymer core is better suited to New Zealand climatic conditions. With no moisture transfer between incoming and outgoing air, humidity is reduced. Synergy cores are tested at 90% efficiency to European Standard EN308.
Whisper Quiet Running
The unique acoustic insulated ducting used in all SmartVent Synergy systems ensures ‘whisper quiet’ air transfer and better air temperature retention.
Low Profile Diffusers
Stylish flat diffusers inset in your ceiling for an unobtrusive look are fully adjustable for balanced airflow into each room.
Stunning NZ Results
In an actual New Zealand installation the following results have been achieved. The air inside the home was 24º degrees and heated by an open fire. The air outside was 7º degrees. Normally you would have to continuously heat the incoming air by 17º degrees to replace the lost heat.
Using Synergy, the fresh incoming air is already being warmed to 22º degrees. Therefore the incoming air only needs to be heated by a further 2º degrees to maintain a comfortable and healthy temperature. As a result this home is continuously ventilated with minimal heat loss.

Second Source Air – cleverly select source
The second source feature can cleverly select the most effective fresh air source, either from the roof space or outside.
Core By-pass Divertor – great summer feature
The core by-pass feature diverts fresh filtered air around the heat exchange process. This is useful in summer when the outside temperature is lower than the inside and you do not want to warm the incoming air.
Heat Boost Kit – extra heating
The heat boost feature allows you to make even better use of your existing heating in winter. This feature is only effective in certain applications.
Tempering Heater – increase the warmth
By using a tempering heater you can further increase the warmth to take the chill off cold incoming air in winter.
